Top 5 Tips on Article Marketing

By John Michaels

We are living on an age where almost everything we want can be obtained in just a few clicks. These days, shopping and even ordering from your favorite restaurant can be done online. The internet has definitely changed the way we do things including the way we do marketing.

In the past, entrepreneurs only rely on strategies that are often time consuming and require so much effort. Those practices are even considered costly especially when entrepreneurs are eyeing on the global marketing. But today, with the advances in technology, many entrepreneurs can make it possible to go global without really having to go beyond its marketing budget. These web-based practices are collectively called internet marketing. And one of the common strategies of it is article marketing. If you're new in this field, then the following tips will help you get a good start:

1. Concentrate on quality

Many marketers fail to realize that article marketing isn't just all about creating articles and having them published. It's all about providing the right content to the right clients. In article marketing, the number doesn't matter as much as the quality. It would be better to have a few but high quality articles than to have tons of poorly made ones.

2. Create relevant and interesting pieces

Your first few lines of your article should entice your reader to read the rest of it. If you bore your readers at the start of the first paragraph, then expect your articles to be unread. Also, it's important to note that while engaging articles matter, relevance counts too. So if you're in a dating niche, come up with articles related to your products/services, come up with dating articles.

3. Submit your articles in different article directories

Gain broader exposure by submitting your articles in different article directories. Make sure you read these sites' rules in posting articles as many of them require a certain number of words and oftentimes, will only accept those that are really made well.

4. Add your links

One purpose of your articles is to have more readers click on your link, check out your site, and get more clients purchase your products or services. Every time you hit that publish button, see to it that you have embedded your links in your article. Make sure these links work and are in compliance with the directory's rules and regulations.

5. Proofread

Look cheap and unprofessional by leaving your articles as they are - with typos, misspelled words, and grammatical errors. If you don't want that to happen, learn to proofread your article before hitting that 'publish' button.

Article marketing may not be everything but when you make good at it, you can see some difference in the way people view your company and in your site traffic.
