Advantages Of a Wooden Bed

By Matthew Wood

We can spend up to 1/3 of our lives sleeping so shouldn't we all be asking the question - 'What makes a good bed?' There are three key elements that can make up what can be considered a "good bed" and this article aims to identify them.

Type of bed The type of bed - or more specifically, the size - is a factor that should be given serious consideration. There are typically two types of beds to choose from - a double or single. Your preference is purely dependant on whether you would like more or less room to manoeuvre when sleeping - or indeed, if you share with a partner! If you have children, bunk beds could also be a useful option as they take up less space in the room and are more practical than having single beds.

Safety With metal beds there is always the chance of the material cracking or welding - wooden beds don't have this problem. Wooden beds can give great support to those who like to sit up and read in bed of a night. Built from natural materials, wooden beds are able to handle dust, heat and water, meaning they are extremely durable. This durability makes wooden beds an excellent choice for children - giving parents that extra confidence that their son or daughter can rest effectively.

Typically, if you like to sleep to on your back, then a firmer surface is recommended with an air or innerspring mattress likely to be the most comfortable. For those who sleep on their stomachs or on their sides, a softer mattress could well be necessary with a foam type likely to be preferable.

Conventional and Fashionable As mentioned previously, wooden beds are ideal for those who want support when sitting up in bed to read or perhaps work on a laptop. The beds are available in a number of different sizes- from single, double to king size - and styles that can suit the needs of the consumer. Beds can be purchased in dark or light shades with different types of finish to them, including ash or beech. Wooden beds are also considered to be much more beneficial to the overall feel and aesthetics of a room. They can give off a classic glow and blend well with other types of furniture in the room.

These sheets will give you a soft feeling and help to keep away moisture from your body so you don't end up in a sweaty mess in the morning! Cottons are defined into four categories; extra-long, long, medium and short. Strictly speaking, the longer the cotton, the finer the fabric.
