Why Ad Copy Matters So Much in Your PPC Campaigns

There are no mysteries involved with PPC advertising, and once you truly grasp what needs to be done you have excellent prospects. The curious thing about this form of advertising is it involves marketing and advertising principles that will serve you well all across the board. So in order to get the most out of your PPC campaign, you should get the smallest details right. We always advise people to learn how to craft solid short copy ads because that is a skill that will carry over elsewhere.

Be sure to include some kind of call to action phrase in all your ads. It is just a facet of human nature for people to avoid making decisions in certain situations, and that is why the call to action with sales or advertising is effective. Be clear when it comes to telling your prospects what action they should be taking once they reach your landing page. We think the best way to get a feel for this is simply studying what others do, and you will get a great idea about it. You have seen this a thousand times if you have been in IM for any length of time.

The simplest thing to do is capitalize every first letter in every different word in the display URL except the 'com'. A lot of times the display and destination URL are exactly the same, and we believe search engines prefer that kind of transparency. If readers and prospects think you at least look the professional part, then that will ease their minds a little bit.

You can learn how to write ad copy and discover a lot of information on the subject, but the difference is it is an individual effort. Since each of your ad campaign and ad group is unique in its own way, it may be that a different ad copy works in favor for a different ad group. Split testing means you test one aspect of your ad such as something in the body copy or the headline but never both at the same time. There have been lots of times when we just continued to do split testing on headlines, indefinitely.

Your ads need to convert, but just keep in mind there is a lot more to profitable campaigns that you must learn. So much hinges on the quality of your copy, but always keep the overall in mind because it all works together. What you accomplish in your business will depend on very many things, but overall we will always urge you to try new things and see what comes of it.
