Trend Forecasts For Fashion Accessories In Wrist Watches

By William David Henry

Trends in fashion accessories are following a few very definite directions but time pieces are showing a far wider variety of fads. Retro and vintage are one of the most important trends, particularly from the 1960s and 1920s. Eclectic styles are terribly trendy. The shows that began the year revealed some interesting new fads in accessorizing.

If one must choose a single 'it' piece in jewelry, it's the wrist cuff. It's being crocheted to bring out a hippie feeling, or being made of white gold with boldly engraved artwork for a melodramatic feel from a baroque era. This means the time piece is also being used on the wrist cuff as an elegant new way to wear one's watch.

Prettiness is always important to women and no designer would gain from ignoring this preference. For this reason, the bracelet strap is still very hip at the moment, being brought out in pastel hues in line with this color spectrum fad. Pinks, lilacs or pale blues, any shade goes as long as it's ice-cream pastel.

In an entirely different direction, vintage is terribly important in current trends. Replicas are thus incredibly hip this year. Narrow fabric belts straight out of an eighties era are being used as time piece straps. These can be used as wrist straps but one is able to be creative and use these in any way one desires.

The fashionable are becoming increasingly aware of the art of horology. Many want complex and artful time pieces on their wrists. Chronographs are thus incredibly fashionable and designers are turning them into superb pieces by adding interesting design aspects to them.

While this is predominating male trends, women are also becoming aware of the desirability of a well made time piece. They are adequately satisfied with the amazing number available for women these days. Watches are among the most important fashion accessories this year.
