The Benefits of Blogging You Don't Know About

By Due Daniels

Normally people cannot see the benefits of blogging. Blogging does not look like it is worth anyone's time, particularly info overload times we live in today. Nevertheless, there are a group of very informed people and business owners who know what the very strong benefits of blogging are; and those benefits are so valuable to them it is almost scary that the world is not required to blog like they are to breath.

To begin with it makes sense to learn what a blog actually is (if you don't). Originally the term blog was called a weblog. The "w-e" was dropped and everyone just started calling it a blog. What is a weblog? It is plainly a log of content. Before blogs, websites were either flash or static; then came the blog where you could add content whenever you wanted. It really reminds us of a journal. You remember a journal right; those things teenage girls use to write in pointing out who they hate and who they had a crush on. Now that we know what a blog is, what are the benefits of blogging?

Blogging helps you think better. I learned this from one of my main mentors. When you keep a log of things it helps the brain process information. This means it helps you think better. I can attest to this even before my mentor in told it to me. This is because when I was learning a new subject, I began to simply blog about what I was learning and as time went on, I realized I was learning it better and more easily. Brian Tracy once said if you want to learn something well, teach it. I began to teach what I was learning (in that subject matter) through my blog. It helped me process what I was learning faster, retain it better, and think clearer about it.

How is this done? Ask questions and answer them. If questions are not looming (in your mind), go find questions people are asking and answer those questions for them. This does twofold of things for benefit; it will allow for the development of good content topics for blogging, and allow for learning and thinking better on that subject. By answering questions, it is forcing the brain to work in the figure of thinking.

An additional known benefit of blogging is the ability to earn money in doing it. It is probably why 95% of the world of bloggers blog. While blogging is not overnight money (thus the reason people start and quit often), it is the sure money in the internet marketing field. When we blog constantly with good content, we can monetize our efforts. There are multiple ways to monetize your blog. There is the use of Ads where people pay us monthly to advertise on our websites or blogs. We can use Google Adsense, affiliate promotions, or develop our own products to advertise on our blog.

Good content and I mean real good quality content is going to help you get quality visitors, subscribers, and loyal readers and this is what makes our blogs valuable thus able to earn us more money. We would have never imagined simply blogging would help us think better and thinking better could help us earn more money!

By blogging, we are in position to help other people. If our blog is a "how to" blog or a product review, or a travel review, it is poised to help our readers in some fashion. Even if our blog is pure entertainment, we are still able to help our readers by providing good entertainment. Our blogging has to provide education or entertainment (or both); primarily our blogs have to fill a void or provide a solution. And we have the ability to do that simply with and by blogging.

If your blog can really help other people or act as a solution to their problems; then it will make you an expert in that field. Being viewed as an expert will help your wallet or bank account (which ever you like to refer to your monetary goods). The reason this is a benefit to blogging is because people will come to you for the answers in your subject matter. This can open more doors, speaking arrangement or engagements, seminars and webinars, turning most of your most valuable content into books and courses, which again monetizes your blog. It can even turn into a full-time business.

There are other benefits; however, these four really stand out to me. Taking the first step and starting a blog is the key. Imagine starting a hobby that takes perhaps half an hour a day and it helps one think better, earn money, help others, and become an expert. If that does not make one go out and begin blogging, I just don't know what will. It is very easy to begin a blog today; it can start for less than 25 bucks a month. Get started today and enjoy the benefits of blogging!
