Jogging or running is one of the simplest exercises you can do, as it can be done almost anywhere with no special equipment. This form of exercise is the most effective calorie burner and has the most health benefits. Here are some tips to get you started or to help you get more out of your jogging routine.

Running with a group or a friend is a great way to keep you motivated and also provides accountability. It can be very motivational to run with someone, but there's nothing wrong with running alone, either. You will be less likely to quit too early or do less than your best when you have a partner. Having someone to talk to can be fun, as well, but don't let it become a distraction. Saving the conversation for when you're finished and focusing on jogging may be the best way to go. One way to keep running interesting is to run with a partner or group.

It's a good idea to study the health benefits of jogging. This helps to keep you motivated on days when you don't really feel like going out and running. Jogging is great activity if you are trying to lose weight but you have to be consistent.

Another great benefit of jogging is that it is great for your cardiovascular health and it helps keep your bones strong. So a good rule of thumb is to start and end at a slow pace and you ease into the transition. Learn how to do proper stretching exercises, and then do them before and after each run - every time. After this, you can rest with your feet up, at a level above the heart, as this helps the heart return to a more normal load after the increased activity.

It really doesn't matter when you start doing it, just be sure it's safe for you to do, though. It is not unusual at all for experienced runners to feel like they cannot wait to start a good run because it just feels good. Be sure to follow proper procedures so your muscles and bones stay healthy and strong.
