My Experiences On Marketing On Twitter

By Nathalie Schley

Software tools to automate Twitter marketing were being greatly promoted a few years ago. Twitter was viewed as a great new way of getting a list of people whom you could target to advertise your products. But the question is, were any of those MLM business programs that were promoted, actually doing you any good? We shall now discuss Twitter marketing and whether or not it is worth your time and expense as part of your IM tactic.

Anxious to step up my tribe pro review product sales, I went ahead and started Twitter marketing to create a large list of followers hoping to turn them into buyers. I joined programs that promised to get me followers on Twitter and bought software tools to help publicize my products. By the time I was done, I'd invested in something like eight programs to do some of the grunt work involved in Twitter marketing.

One of these programs was an automatic 'people follower' on Twitter with the intention that some of those people would follow me in return. Those who were not following me on Twitter would be automatically removed from my follow list by another program I had bought. This way I could be following those who might follow me back. On top of some other software that are not really worth mentioning, I bought a program that would automatically take my blog posts and automatically Tweet them as soon as they were published on my blog. I must say that the combined effect of utilizing all these software together produced superb results because each program did as advertised. But as soon as it looked like I wasn't pulling in any money, my initial enthusiasm was soon dampened. Daily I would post roughly ten blog entries knowing that they would then automatically be shown on Twitter too. Then I discovered a way to have all the posts done for me automatically, assuming that the more posts I would have the more Twitter users who would see them.

The results of my attempts are: Applying this strategy over three years generated nearly 10,000 people following me on Twitter. I bet you think this is an amazing number, but that's not the complete story: Also in the past three years I have had at least fifteen thousand of my blog posts that were promoting affiliate products posted to my Twitter account. And that was the only campaigning that I did for that blog, I opted not to even ping the posts to see just what Twitter could do for me. Well, you can't say that 3 years isn't long enough to achieve good results but using Twitter I just got 2 - 4 visitors daily to my blog. My affiliate earnings from 2 transactions was $47 and to that you can add $8.65 Adsense revenue - extremely dismal all around!

In a nutshell, having nearly ten thousand followers on Twitter using all these Twitter marketing tools will not give you the results you desire. At the end of the day I'm now out of cash for the Twitter marketing tools I invested in because my dollar return was so dismal. So from my perspective, although there may be good ways to promote on Twitter, paying for the automatic softwares are not the way to go.
