Pinterest - How To Better Market Your Business Everyday

By Hollie Hinchee

Have you heard of Pinterest? It is very interesting. What Pinterest represents is something similar to a visual collage of websites and items that you find interesting, presented in an image format, representing what you really like. What you share with other people are the images you "pin" to the board itself. It's like a giant bulletin board and Facebook got together and had a baby. When it comes to marketing a business, Pinterest is slowly being seen as a viable option. You need to think of how this social medium can work for your business everyday? Is it possible?

Make sure that you feature your business name on your profile. You will be guaranteed exposure by doing this for your business. If you can, and it hasn't been taken yet, use your business name for your user name. What you pin for your business will be associated by visitors to the business itself. Is your business name taken? If so, use something related to your branding and business name instead. In the "name" section, put your business. You should do this, especially if you are not able to use your business name for the username on the profile.

If you need to, or are able to, pin and pin again. You have to be active on your website everyday. Everybody that begins to pin things to their account should do as much as they can, and then see what happens once they are done.

It's good to pin lots of things. You should do this over a long period of time, not all at once. This shows that you are active both on the system and online and that you are keeping up with what is going on. A big flush of pins followed by nothing makes you look erratic and less reliable.

Always add an explanation to any photo or image you add to a board. Some individuals have browsers with really harsh limits. Other people have browsers that load incredibly slowly. A depiction of the snapshot will allow people to have a better understanding of what you pinned so that they won't have to kill time before they can see the snapshot itself. More centrally, the narrative you provide can stay with the image (if it is good), as it makes its way around Pinterest, for different viewers to see. This will do wonders for your profile and follower count, not to mention your business as a whole! There are many different reasons to become a part of Pinterest. For one thing, not many other marketers are on the system right now so you'll be one of the first to use the system for business building. For another, it is a great way to show off your personality and your desire to help others (through the things you pin). Finally it's good because any opportunity you have to build your business and increase your community is a good opportunity.
