Small Business SEO, is it what you suspect it is?

By Josh Stone

Most individuals are not actually familiar with the term, "small business SEO." By this point, many have heard the term S.E.O, which stands for SEO. They've heard the term, but it's still a misty idea of a sort of "magic web peculiar science thing," that only the men from Google truly understand.

Well, if you do not like rational type equations, then you will not like S.E.O either. It is a form of science, in the sense that, when all the right parts of the "search engine and content puzzle" are all put together correctly, you end up with the outcome of the finalized profuct you're attempting to find.

Small business SEO isn't different than SEO for a personal blog someone writes once per week. Google, Bing and Yahoo , as well as all the other search engines, are trying to find the same elements across the spectrum of web pages and content.

What's different about small business SEO, is that, they must have it working correctly, while some guy or girl that just blogs on the weekend for kicks, about their private interests or viewpoint about varied subjects, doesn't fret about it.

Small business SEO is urgent for getting masses of organic visitors to their web site and translating that into new business profits.

The issue? Too many home entrepreneurs say," They just can't afford those highly priced SEO companies to get their business some web traffic." They feel comfortable doing it the old-fashioned way they've always done it. Newspaper, Television, radio and Yellow Page advertisements appeared to get them enough business every year, so why jump on the small enterprise web band wagon?

easy. More consumers than they ever got before. More exposure than they've ever dreamed about and more FREE advertising than they may have imagined. Sure you have got to pay for it originally or do it yourself, but the payoff of that effort keeps on producing year on year. Just try and drop the Yellow Page ad each year and see what happens!

Good S.E.O companies know more than just a few paths to capitalize and get the traffic to your company. There are so very many techniques to get traffic to your small business website that I could write a book about it, but I believe enough "experts" already have.

A few of these activities take time and consistent effort. Most smaller enterprises are out of time to do all this and truly do need a pro. If you as a small business owner needed to do your own S.E.O, here are merely a few ideas for you to consider:

Web 2.0Article MarketingSocial BookmarkingForum postsPress ReleasesVideosWeb DirectoriesRSSPingingBlog posts

We'll take the popular article marketing for instance; you have to have an article. Who writes it, you or a professional? Then it's got to be submitted to the various article directory sites to be seen online. (Naturally, you must put it on your internet site too.)

Perhaps that only took you 2- 3 hours. That suggests your business didn't have you running things for 2-3 hours. Can they do without you for 2-3 hours? If they can, go for it.

But wait; you only completed one task of this easy list of 10 to do. Now you go post some considerate comments on one or two forums and few more on some blogs. Before you know it, it's past lunch time and you only left 4-5 posts or comments. (And you forgot to link your name back to your website... OH)

Small business SEO is no "stock the shelf and you are done for the day." It's a lot of work and often Awfully tiresome. If one was to compare all the cash you've spent (if you've been in business for any period of time), and stacked it up against the ROI for SEO, you'd be asking, "Why did not I begin to do this sooner?" You did not know. Don't beat yourself up about now, just find a good company and let them start growing your enterprise for you. You won't regret later!
