Back in the day marketing was just so hard. Thank heavens times have moved on!

By Stephane Kolinsky

Save you business time and cash with better marketing

A penny saved is as good to you as a penny earned. With people saving more, spending less, and spending more carefully, each business should be doing the same.

The most important difference between you and the person that spends less for its own sake is that, by making an appraisal of your marketing strategy and making it better, you are able to do much more than you are - with less.

In marketing scale is important.

Would you prefer to market to one hundred people everyday or 1,000? The answer appears clear when put so simply. And as we all know, nothing is ever that easy. Or is it?

Back in the day, for a business to market to 1,000 folks they might have had to pack one thousand envelopes, spend money on 1,000 stamps, print or write 1,000 addresses and worst of all - I remember because I was doing this - tackle the savage experience that was getting the mail merge done!

All that time!

All that effort!

All that money!

And it all took so long too.

And how would you track results back in the day? Biro and paper? Excel?

Nowadays this process to take less than an hour beginning to finish and costs virtually nothing excepting the time to design and write the copy for your campaign. It's all basic email marketing.

You won't have to talk to a mobile marketing company or agency to find out how to do it. You might want to however as more e-mails are be read on smart phones and you will need to guarantee your e-mails look great on these devices.

So doing more with less is imminently achievable.

But that is just replacing an Old Skool mail drop with an email marketing campaign. A great start, but nowadays with the tools at our disposal, we are able to scale things up many more times.

Link building, Mobile Ad Campaigns, Social Media, SMS Campaigns, QR Campaigns, and Call Tracking are all tools that smaller businesses are able to integrate into their marketing strategy.

Look into it. This stuff is accessible to anybody.

So if you've stumbled upon this piece of writing and you are one of the Old Skool that is yet to embrace the online marketing tools of our time then get excited.

I'm absolutely sure that in 2012 you can save your business money and time with better marketing.
