Linking To The Right Internet Sites Can Certainly Create A Big Difference In Your Search Engine Rankings

By Hannah S. Thompson

If you'd like to get top search engine ranking your website will be judged on many different aspects. The initial thing is that the keywords and phrases you have throughout your site will make a big difference in your rankings. Something else you will need for your site is lots of links directed back to your website. Needless to say there are various other things that individuals need to know about their search engine ranking.

Google's algorithm uses many different factors to decide page positioning, but nobody knows them all, but some are known. One of several elements that are known is that depending on what websites your site links to can have a good or bad effect on how well your web page is listed in the results. Linking to certain sites that Google considers a poor site is an issue that is not going to allow you to rank your site well. Google sends crawlers to sites all the time and when they realize that you have a link pointing to a web page that they consider is a bad site they may think that your website is endorsing that website. Now you will find that Google, having already banned the one site may take your website and remove it from their results, or even worse they may end up banning your website as well.

However this also will work the other way around. I've in fact tested this specific theory out frequently on a number of my Internet sites. The result for every website I tried this on led to better rankings each and every time for each site I did this with. There was no fixed boost, as a number of sites would move only a few placements while other web pages would jump pages at one time.

The simplest way to do this is to simply embed a link from a You Tube video straight into your website. Incorporating a You Tube video is actually a thing that helps your website in two ways, first Google loves websites with video and second of all you'll be setting up a link that points to You Tube. Yet another thing you might do is to simply add a direct link right back to Google's website. Should you add these things to your sites, within a week or so you really should notice a boost in your search positions.

But please don't forget you'll not want to link to undesirable sites. Every once in awhile you will receive emails from Internet sites wanting to trade links, before you agree you will really want to determine whether that site is even indexed in Google. In the event that Google does not have them indexed it could be because they have banned that website. This does not necessarily mean that the website was banned it could just be that it's a rather new site and Google has not indexed this website in their results yet. Either way the link will not be doing you any good so don't exchange links with sites that are not indexed in Google.
