Social Media Marketing Is Now Setting the Pace for Network Marketers

I was reading an article the other day about Facebook. I did not realize until then that the population of Facebook users has outnumbered the population of the United States for the last two years. No wonder social media marketing has become the most implemented lead generation tool in use today.

The power of social media marketing reaches beyond just marketers. Everyone is feeling the effects of it. It can make or break a business, and marketing will never be the same again.

Social media management has become a necessity to network marketers. Multiple social media sites are common among entrepreneurs. SMS text marketing is becoming second nature to many marketers. Business Facebook pages are common and lead contact forms embedded on landing pages are a must for all social media business sites.

I think the biggest change social media has brought to marketing has to do with the way we now market. We are no longer selling a product or a business. Now it is all about creating long-term relationships within social networking communities.

In the past, we marketers would head to a conference or maybe a luncheon and try to strike up conversations with people we believed would make great business contacts. Sometimes it worked; sometimes it did not. Today, I can sit in bed in my pajamas with my laptop and make more key contacts in an hour or two than I used to make in a month.

Social media marketing is different for each social media site. You have to approach Facebook differently than YouTube. YouTube is different than Twitter. Social media has introduced a brand new etiquette to marketers, and each social media has its own set of etiquette.

Traditional marketing may have spawned social media marketing, but the offspring is nothing like its parent. Social media marketing is constantly developing and expnding and Social media is not restricted to your computer. It encompasses your cell phone, notebook, and any other device that connects to the internet.

Today's network marketer has challenges never before faced. They must learn to compete on every level of social media marketing and must incorporate every platform available to them in their campaigns. This means staying on top of the changes social media marketing endures nearly on a daily basis. This is what will make social media marketing work for you.
