Crossing Items Off Your IM "To-Do" List

By Daniel Moss

As an Secret Millionaire, you'll have to deal with a number of tasks to reach your main goal or objective. Organizing these tasks in a single place is very important because otherwise you won't have enough direction to continue moving forward. In this article you will be taught how to gather your tasks together in just one place and actually be able to work through them. Secret Millionaire is changing peoples minds and hearts.

List Things You're Not Supposed to Do: A nice twist on the traditional to-do list is making sure to include all of the things that you are not supposed to do. But how does that help you? It helps to focus your attention toward what you need to do and away from what you're not supposed to do. For example, let's say that you have this urge to check your email frequently, which acts as a distraction and a hurdle when you're finishing your to-do list. You can include a line item that reads "check email twice a day" and then if you follow that direction, you can cross the item off of your list at the end of the day. The fact is that your focus can easily get distributed amongst other things that eat up your productivity and you should try to minimize this as much as you can.

You can get distracted a lot more easily when you don't focus your attention on taking real and consistent action and that means that you're more likely to leave a bunch of items unfinished on your to-do list. Zeal for success and a high level of motivation are essential if you want to be able to combat this issue. Taking on the hardest parts of your list first is a good way to find your motivation. It's true: those things belong at the top of your list so you can work on them first when you sit down in the mornings. Since your energy and productivity levels are higher at the start of your day, it's easier to take on the hard stuff. And knowing that you're already done with the tasks you're dreading helps you feel better and makes it even easier to finish everything else on your list. Add Tasks to Your List, Not Goals: A lot of Secret Millionaires fail to finish their to-do lists because they create lists that are overwhelming. Usually this happens because the tasks on your list are big enough to be considered goals. Your to-do list needs to be made up of doable tasks that can help you actually achieve your end goals. You should make these tasks small enough that you can actually finish them relatively quickly and feel that you are actually moving ahead so that you can reach your end goals. You also want to include tasks that will help you find clarity instead of tasks that are vague. For example, "Get More Leads" isn't clear and is hard to do but "Call 5 Prospects" is something that you can easily achieve and that is easy to understand.

Have a Purpose: It's important to be able to clearly see the end when you start writing your to-do list. Not understanding what your purpose is supposed to be can make you lose your focus and motivation to finish your list. There is no use in attacking a to-do list all day, day in and day out if you don't understand your primary objective; there is so much more to it than just getting tasks done. So get some paper and a pen and write down the main goal of your project and then plan your to-do list around it.

Last but certainly not in the least, it is important to know which direction you are moving in so that you know how to put forth a consistent effort and, at the end of every day, feel like you have gotten something done as you cross items off of your to-do list.
