Strengthening your marketing strategy with a video

By Tommy Hughes

In the past a marketing strategy was made up of only offline techniques as the internet wasn't available for people to use. Now though the internet has opened up so many more marketing opportunities but people still want to see rather than read what you have to say. Having a great social media and email marketing strategy is an excellent way to communicate with new and existing audiences but a huge amount of text is very likely to put them off.

YouTube is one of the most visited sites on the internet and has over two billion video watches every day. This is a demonstration of how many people watch videos on the internet and shows that people much prefer to consume information through a simple video than a long article. A video helps you communicate your message a lot more easily and allows you to build a relationship with your audience.

Videos also encourage participation and feedback from the audience. Getting good feedback in the comments area on the product or service which you provide will be visible to anyone else who then goes on to visit your video's page. Not only seeing what you have to offer but also the positive feedback will give you a better chance of a new customer.

A video is a great way to add to your online presence and create traffic between your various sites and pages. Links on your video page to your main website, Twitter page and Facebook page will get people to visit them, follow and interact with you. Likewise linking your video on these pages will get people to visit your YouTube channel and see what else you have.

Finally, create a good video and you could even go viral. There have been a number of cases where small and large companies have created videos which have been so popular that they have been watched by millions of people all over the world. There really is no cheaper and faster way to speak to millions of people.
