Different types of affiliate programs have gradually become a major part of mainstream internet. Nowadays, there are various types of programs on the internet that an individual can enroll himself for. These include all types of products ranging from business to business to business to consumer.
However, as is the case with anything popular and mainstream, affiliate marketing programs have also been the victim of numerous myths pertaining to them. The majority of myths pertaining to these programs on the internet are nothing but someone's inability to make a particular program work. In order to clarify the misconceptions of people, here is a list of myths related to affiliate programs and how they are nothing but someone's incompetence.
The affiliate programs are for poor products only: The most established myth is that established products do not need affiliate programs. This myth stems from the fact that a wide variety of small to medium scale programs exist online. This is a false myth because all types of products need affiliate programs and the reason for the larger numbers of small to medium scale programs is just that there are more of these companies in the world than top ones.
Must have up-sells - A good offer should not only have a high converting sales funnel for the initial product but it must two kinds of up sells. One should be a higher ticket item, and one should be a monthly membership product. This will help you to maximize your earnings per customer.
Pay at least 75% commission - There are so many programs that pay at least 75% percent commission its almost not even worth promoting anything less. More recently, I have even been doing very well with a program that pays 100%...so why take anything less? My only exception to this would be if there is some sort of tool that offers a lot of value to your customer.
Must be a high quality product -Treat your customer's right and they will treat you right. Value and honesty to the customer first. Personally, I don't promote anything I haven't purchased, used myself, or stand 100% behind the person who made the product.
Affiliate tracking and timely payment - I like to promote affiliate programs that track your leads you refer for the life of the customer. Sometimes this just isn't possible but it is preferable. Also make sure that the person running the affiliate program has a history of integrity and making payments on time. You would be surprised how many affiliates skip this step and never receive payment so don't take lightly. Sometimes it's easier to skip these steps but if you truly want to select and promote the most profitable affiliate programs online then trust me. Invest the time and it will pay you back 10 fold!"
