Stickiness Essentials for Your Business Blog

By Alex Grady

Your blog can become profitable with a few things being less than perfect, but you cannot have much more than a few. If your content is up to the task, then you can be assured of having a sticky blog which is very good for you. Getting new readers is great, but making the old ones stick for a long time is even better. Repeat or returning traffic is very special and highly desirable because it means you are connecting with your niche audience. Having a loyal readership shows your blog's something, but you need to understand how to make your blog sticky. That is what this article is all about, and you need to read it.

There is real marketing horsepower with an effectively branded blog, and that is something you should never ignore. So that is one thing you should consider, and there are many options available for brand marketing. If your blog is already live, then look at it from the perspective of a first time visitor and see if you know right away what your goal is for that blog. So then that means having a solid grasp for yourself plus having the appropriate means to communicate that. The need to have total clarity on your home page cannot be over-stated in any sense as it is that important.

If you are marketing yourself such as with a service, then what you have to do is work your image in the site design. There is nothing wrong with making yous self known to your audience, and in fact it is almost always a good idea to do it. In the end this is part of the relationship marketing aspect of any site, and there is a lot more to that than we have time to discuss. So as you work to reduce the mistrust, then you will be building rapport which contributes to the sticky factor.

Think of what you can do with content such as publishing a two or three part series, and be sure to tell people that the post they are reading will be continued. This is a bit like leading people with copy devices, but you have to make sure you deliver the goods. Chances are you will improve as you go along, and just be sure that you do not trick people in any way. Even though you won't be able to do it with all your posts, but you can most definitely do it if you focus.

No matter what you have done in the past with a blog, you should try something else if you did not have success. Only you know what you want to achieve, so just be sure you are using the best approaches and models for your goals. You will find that a solid longer term goal will be made up of many short term goals. Also, much will depend on how you market your blog, and it is true that some methods take longer to bear fruit than others. Work on providing high quality content that delivers solid information people can use.
