He then presumably fired a shot at the ceiling and then started shooting victims at random as he walked up the stairs of the theater. Anyone that attempted to get up and exit the theater, he shot.
Now authorities face the frightening proposition of searching Holmes ' studio. The loft is purportedly booby-trapped with varied incendiary and chemical devices and trip wires. As of Friday evening, Holmes ' building and 5 surrounding apartment buildings had been abandoned. But authorities had delayed any efforts to enter Holmes ' loft until Saturday so as to bring in resources from the federal government.
Bullets from an AR-15 rifle, a 12-guage shotgun and 1 of 2 .40-caliber handguns were recovered at the flick theater.
